Review: Tweet My Blog
Let me say first that, as long as it does no harm, any software that is free can’t be all bad!
With that said, Tweet My Blog is a Word Press plug-in that doesn’t work exactly as advertised, but those features that DO work might be worth it anyway. As you can probably guess, it makes your blog work in conjunction with Twitter.
For example, one of the primary benefits listed on their sales page is that Tweet My Blog will automatically go to your Twitter account and send a tweet to all your followers every time a new post is published in your Word Press blog. This is only partially true. It will send this tweet if you publish your post immediately. If you schedule your post to be published at a later date, that tweet never happens.
Another benefit Tweet My Blog totes is the “sidebar widget,” where you can display a set number of your recent tweets on your blog, garnering more followers. This didn’t work with my particular theme, but does work with others. In mine, however, the tweets shown appeared to overlap each other. Supposedly this was a bug that was fixed in a version before the current one, but it is still a problem for me.
Therefore, I have a hard time recommending Tweet My Blog, but as I stated at the start of this post, it’s free. It might be worth a try to see if it works better with your Word Press setup.
