One thing every Internet marketer needs to do is visit the forums on a regular basis. These are great sources of information. Just browsing through them you’ll learn things you never knew before. You’ll get ideas for new tactics for more traffic or better conversions. You’ll find money-saving techniques. You can ask questions and get advice on almost anything, including whether the latest and greatest product is really worth the cost.
Forums are also good for gaining expertise in the eyes of the forum members. As you start to participate, answering other people’s questions, they’ll start to regard you as an expert in your field. Most forums allow you to put a link to your own website in your signature line. But be careful to read the rules of the forum! Unwanted advertising can get you booted fast!
Finding forums is not difficult. As an Internet marketer, no matter what your niche, you’ll probably want to visit the marketing forums. Just do a search on your favorite search engine of “Internet marketing + forums,” and you’ll find a huge list. You’ll also need to follow a similar procedure to find forums in the niche or niches in which you market. For instance if you’re website is about how to quit smoking, look up “quit smoking + forums” to find a place for new ideas and contributions.
